I finished this one in 2014. It was a quick build for me, only 4 weeks from beginning to end. I really enjoyed building this and not being to anal about the finish.
Aircraft is from No 607(County of Durham) Sqn RauxAF Cooper Trophy Air Race 1948
The Kit
- Eduard Boxing of the Airfix Kit
At the time this was the best Airfix kit I'd built. The Hurricane Mk 1 perhaps shades it now.. but thats open to debate. The moulding and fit is as good as any of the Hasegawa kits I've built perhaps bar the F-2A.
Aftermarket
- Cockpit - Aires
- Exhausts - Aires
- Eduard PE (came in the box).
- Canopy - Squadron Vacuform (for a Seafire Mk 47, but it looks close enough to me ).
- Rocker covers spinner and prop blades - Barracuda Cast
- Exhausts and Gun covers - Quickboost
- Antenna - Broom bristle
Decals
- From the box but Cartograf printed
Paint
- Mr colour Lacquers
- Clear Coats: Testors Gloss, and Dullcoate
Weathering
- Pastels, Tamiya Weathering seats and Pigments
I kept weathering to a minimum to keep the build process short.
