It was the second piece of armour I'd ever built and I was never really happy with it. The base green was far to dark (I'd used the colour suggested in the instructions).
I wanted to have a practice at doing a dusty vehicle. So I couple of months ago as the KV-1 looked like it would be an easy one to refurbish and I stripped it down and started again. I did intend to use the commander figure again but broke the hatch.
I managed to get hold of another set of decals (thanks Paul) from a guy online.
I did add some Mr Surfacer and stippled it to try and get a rough surface on the cast surfaces. I looked OK before the paint and weathering went on but I don't think it really worked.
